Power Editing using Masks is a two-session course (January 21st and 28th) for students with a basic familiarity with Lightroom Classic. The addition of powerful new masking options to Lightroom can totally change your approach to editing your photos. Now it is easier than ever to optimize your photo’s appearance by selectively adjusting different photo elements and eliminating unwanted distractions. For example:
1) Edit a person, or just their eyes, skin, clothes, etc.
2) Select and edit parts of an image based on color
3) Select and edit parts of an image based on brightness
4) Use the artificial intelligence selection tools to select the sky, background, subject, or specific objects
5) Combine masks to refine your selection – for example the color blue in a birds feathers without changing the color of the sky.
Selections can be made much more easily than previously, often with just one click. All these tools will be explained and demonstrated with a variety of different types of photos, including people, landscapes and wildlife.
As a bonus, the Lightroom Print Module will be demonstrated. Many find the Lightroom Print Module more straightforward than other options. The Print Module also allows you to save different print versions of an image including all print settings without changing the original, and you can print your image without having to export it to another application.
