About this event
The 16th Annual Ikebana Festival will take place on January 25th and 26th at the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix.
Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement that encourages the use of graceful lines and calming spaces to showcase the natural beauty of flowers. The Japanese Friendship Garden is a beautiful setting for the display of over 50 stunning flower arrangements from 20 local artists and a number of demonstrations of the floral arranging style. Traditional arrangements using natural branches and flowers, and more exotic works incorporating local desert and tropical flora, and even unconventional materials such as recycled plastics, metals, and fabrics will be displayed as you wander the Japanese garden paths, complete with ponds and waterfalls.
Meet, and be inspired by, Dr. Larry Brecker, Featured Resident Artist 2023-24 for the Town of Paradise Valley. His art photography interprets the beauty in nature and gardens. His work is inspired by his wife’s (Carol Brecker) Ikebana gardens and Ikebana art.
For a schedule of events, and more information, see the website. FYI, online tickets are $2 less than at the gate.
