Nestled in the heart of Phoenix, the Desert Botanical Garden is one of the city’s most popular and unforgettable attractions. Renowned worldwide, it is the spectacular 55-acre home of over 50,000 beautiful, desert-hearty plants and trees. From towering to tiny, multiple varieties of thorny cactus take center stage. Wide, paved paths guide visitors easily through the many specific planting areas. Annually and seasonally artist installations are scattered along the pathways further enhancing the Garden’s celebratory mood. It is truly a garden of infinite delights, worthy of many visits.
Meet at 8:30 AM at the parking lot at the NW corner of W Goldwater Canyon Dr and N Remington Dr for an 8:45 AM departure. Riders will be assigned to vehicles before departure.
The drive to the Garden may take about an hour.
All paths are paved, wide and largely level. There’s some seating along the paths. Available on a First Come/First Serve basis: wheelchairs (free); electric scooter ($35). Best to expect to walk at least a mile.
We will shoot pictures for several hours and then meet at Gertrude's restaurant in the garden for lunch.
